Wop-De-Do it's Wednesday

Halfway through the week. This is kind of a good thing, also kind of a bad thing. Good - only 1 more day till its FRIDAY! Bad - I have to finish my pinhole camera assignment pretty much by tomorrow, I have work Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I also have to pack up my room because it is going to be re-carpeted! Agghh what a mish.
Went for an amazing hour long walk today with my sister, along the water front. It was freezing, by we just kept our pace up and distracted ourselves but talking shit throughout haha. So glad I finally got out a did some exercise, I need to get out and do it more.
I might do the 9 visits for $9 deal at Les Mills, Laura said she's keen and she will be awesome for motivating me!
Maddy Hart is in Tauranga. I hope she's doing alright.
That's all for today I think. Here's some pictures :) ...

These legs! - The Sartorialist

This is just great. hehe

My first Pinhole Camera image!

I love my $8 tights from Look Sharp! Even though my legs are a tad to fat to wear them.

Travel Plans!

I think its about time I grew up a little, and did some independent travel. There has been heaps of talk about travel and stuff within the group with the trip to Melbourne coming up, new years, 21st and some of us finishing up uni, and i think its a really good idea to get started on seeing the world we live on! As cheesy as it sounds I think we all kind of know what I mean when I say I feel like an urge to explore and see the world. Especially now I'm getting older and I'm out of school, and sort of trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my dam life!
I don't know how, going on a plane to some random place and looking at a bunch of random stuff that won't mean very much to me(not to mention probably feeling really out of place and uncomfortable) is going to help me figure anything out. But people seem to think it will, so i may as well give it a try.
But its not just that, I want to see all of these places I've seen on movies and TV and have heard about my whole life. And try and really experience the culture and you know "see how the other half live".
I have been lucky enough to have seen some amazing places already! San Francisco, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Singapore, Fiji, Sydney, just to name a few! ;) ha ha
Only because of my mum being a flight attendant and I know I'm so lucky. But I was restricted by the fact I can only go places Air New Zealand flies to, so no New York or Paris, I can do London, but I just haven't yet. I feel like this was only a teaser to the much, much more that is out there.

So now you kind of know why I want to travel, here's my fairly loose travel plans for the next year-ish:

First upcoming trip is the group Melbourne trip I have planned. It was Lorenzo's idea kind of for all the boys 21st's this year. The plan was for everyone to get their parents to buy them flights and accommodation in Melbourne as their birthday gift! People on the band wagon are Lorenzo(obviously) and Georgia, Ben and Lucy, Bunny and I think Summar, and then me. As you may have picked up on, yes 3 couples and then me. The 7th wheel. But I really don't mind at all, its nothing I'm not used to. ha!
The trip is planed for a week, from the 5th of December. It will be a Monday - Monday(its cheaper that way).
When we get over there we just plan to shop, party and eat. Plus my very good friend Louise lives over there so she will be able to show us where the cool kids hang.

After Melbourne I have a family trip to Aspen, Colorado. We're going over to ski, i guess you could say skiing is our family hobby, but its more like my dads hobby/obsession and we(the rest of the family) have no real choice in the matter.
I don't mind though, its the only thing i have stuck to my whole life and am actually better than most of my friends at! Haha.
I think we are going there for about 2 weeks from the 3oth December. So I will be there over new years, which won't be great as the drinking age is 21 over there and I'll only be 20 :( but I not overly bothered about it. Free holiday, who's complaining?

Then I will be staying in NZ for a while as I'll have uni and stuff but I started making plans with Jane the other night about going and staying with her in London some time next year, as she will hopefully be living/working over there by then.
If all goes to plan I will spend 2 weeks there when I'm on my mid-semester break around June/July.
Also I was thinking on my way back I could stop in New York for another 2 weeks and stay with Erica.
I worked out that it will cost me next to nothing to get to London on my mums staff travel. Then London to New York shouldn't be too much as it is a really popular route. Then from New York I could either go NY-LAX-AKL or NY-LHR-AKL. Not sure which is cheaper yet.
But London would be amazing! Hopefully by the time I got there Jane would know her way around a bit and have her own place, so I could stay with her and she could show me around and we could maybe catch a cheap flight over to Paris or somewhere in cool Europe. I don't really know or care, just getting over there would be an awesome accomplishment for me.
In New York, I'd definitely want to see all the sights, the Statue of Liberty, go to Central Park and Time Square.
I'll have to research cool shops, cafes and restaurants to check out. As well as other tourist shit. I might buy some of those cheesy travel books and start getting smarter about this stuff.
Eventually I want to live overseas too, maybe after I've finished my study.
But that's all for now.

If you got this far, thanks for reading.

13. Dr. Martens - First and Forever

Hey Mads,
You probably won't get this till you get to tauranga.
But anyway, I'd seen this before and not really taken a proper look.
I watched the video for it just now. Its amazing. I love it. You will love it.
As well as the campaign and almost every pair of docs in it. Its made me love docs again.
I guess for us its not something we can relate to very much.. relationships & heartbreak hah, but I think thats why we'd love it so much more. :)

13. New Stuff! Thanks Mum :)

So today started off crap. Woke up for uni, thought I'd skip my first class but what I didn't realize was it is actually workshop week so we don't have classes we just have briefings in the morning and 1 project.
So I got a text from Laura "Where are you?!"
It was 11:30am by this point and finally I clicked! By this time the morning briefing was well over and everybody was down the rd having drinks at the Paddington.
So I missed the most important briefing of my whole week. I went into uni to see if I could fix things up and figure out what I had to do. We were in partners, and my partner has ditched me. Other than that I'm still completely confused as to what I am doing. So almost had a break down from the frustration, and then went home. Thats when it started to snow, So it was also freezing!
On top of it all had to cancel my plans to go to The Department Store with Jane :(

I got home and just wanted to go to bed before I had a cry (I know I was totally over reacting, but I was already moody and emotional for reasons undisclosed haha).
That was when mum asked me if I wanted to hit Ponsonby to help her look for a new skirt! To me this is code for - "Come keep me company and I'll buy you stuff!".
I did hesitate! That's how crap I was feeling but I'm glad I did go cos look what I got:

A cute little collarless shirt dress thing. You can't see properly in this picture but its kind of b&w checkered.

Some new dark grey track pants, tried on almost every pair in the shop and these were definitely/most flattering.
Both from Witchery.
So it turned out to be an alright day. Not just my new stuff, but i always feel good after having spent a bit of quality time with my mum. I don't do it enough. Another plus was mum buying me Fatimas on the way home! Got a lamb chawarma as usual. Yum!
Thats all for now. I'm going to go see if i can find out what I'm doing tomorrow. Wish me luck!

12. Sassy Saturdays, Lazy Sundays.

Heya Maddy
(am writing my posts more like letters to you now, as we kind of discussed)
Am blogging from bed, as I usually do. I'm super tired and hungover from last night. Arg head ache etc not fun.
I'll start off by telling you about my night! Had the stock take thing at work till quite late so I didn't get out till late. At about 11 got Jane and went to town drank and spilt cranberry & vodka in my car. First we went to Mo'Ron which was at Tabac. Lots of people there, was good but we didn't stay for long. After that we went to Tyler St Garage, we always seem to just end up there! Its always a good time, was rather drunk by that point.
Jane got some good pics :)

Tyler St Garage

So that was last night. Today had Yum Char with the family (we're thinking about making it a weekly thing). Then Jane had the lovely idea of getting lunch but typical us we took a good 3 hours to get ready and actually leave the house so we didn't get out till about 4 in the arvo! Ha.
We were going to go to Area 51 to look at some of the Cheap Mondays apparently there are some for only like $75!
But it closed at 4 so we just missed it :(
We went to Karen Walker instead and there was sooo much stuff I liked!
Even just the little knit tops and.. Ohhh I think I'm going to have to dedicate a post :D
And the nail polish.
And the lipstick.
And ohhh em gee.
Jane got these amazing Topshop high-heel boots, I've looked at them before and thought were awesome!
Afterwards we went for the latest lunch in the history of lunches, at this place called Tasca on Nuffield st. My favorite part was when they put Shakira on. Yeah my jam!
Good coffee and lovely staff. No wait I lie my favorite part was actually when the old lady with braces told Jane she looked European! hahaha
I had such a lovely afternoon with wee Janet I wish for every Sunday to be the same. Minis the terrible weather!
Here was our day in photos:

Wearin ma new hat ;)

Bahaha our walking sartorialist photos

LOVE THESE!

Dodgy egg?

Sorry if my post is crap. I'm getting dizzy spells from the tiredness.
Thanks for reading if you didn't lose interest by now!

Made plans for Department Store tomorrow. Can't wait!
